September Update: Oh My Stars!

I know, I know, this blog post is a little late... But let me make it up to you with this mini photoshoot of tiny splooties (yes that's now my new name for baby birds) 🤣

WOW it's been a busy few weeks feeding, weighing, feeding again. We are in the midst of renovations so guess where the brooder/incubator set up is? Right beside my bed, which is terrible if you're a sleep light sleeper 😂😂.

The first clutch of the 2020/2021 season is from a violet turquoise pineapple cockbird and turquoise hen, which has given me six beautiful hens and one cockbird (sold). Hens will either be violet turquoise pineapple or turquoise pineapple, and the cockbird violet turquoise or turquoise. We are now taking deposits for the handraised hens (plus future clutches), so if you were wanting to add a little baby to the family we may have just the fit for you!

Green Cheeks

In other aviary news, we have two more pairs on eggs, which will give us more babies in:

  • Green Pineapple cocks/hens

  • Violet Green pineapple cocks/hens)

  • Turquoise Pineapple cocks/hens

  • Violet Turquoise Pineapple cocks/hens

We also have our pallid (cinnamon) and opaline (yellowsided) pairs, which shouldn't be too far away either.

If you were looking to make unrelated breeding pairs, we also have you covered. Flick us a message to chat about genetics and what you want to achieve with your breeding program. We love to chat mutations and all the nitty gritties!

Check out our curated chart of green cheeked conure colours here.

Quakers

Unfortunately our first eggs from our quakers didn't hatch, but it was early for the season. Our mature pairs have since gone down to nest again, so we remain hopeful that these babies will hatch now we have made some tweaks to our processes. We are expecting quaker babies in blue, cobalt, blue pallid, dark green, dark green pallid and cobalt pallid. I cannot wait to share these new exciting colours with you all!

Are you thinking of adding a new bird to your family in the coming months? Are you unsure what species might be right for you? We have prepared some articles which might help your decision process, and you can check them out here:

Exciting New Products Coming Soon!

We have been busily working on some designs and prototypes for something amazing to offer our wonderful clients and community, but shhh we can't share just yet! What do you think it will be? Or what would you like us to stock?

And just one more, I can't resist those cutie little smiling faces! 😍😍
